Bruin Consent Coalition Member Application 2016-17
This application is for the Student Wellness Commission's Bruin Consent Coalition, formerly 7000 in Solidarity: A Campaign Against Sexual Assault.

Bruin Consent Coalition (BCC) will be focusing its efforts on the education, awareness, and prevention of sexual violence on campus and in our community. Our first and foremost purpose is to help those who have experienced sexual violence. We will continue advocacy by working to change school policies to better support Bruin survivors, creating a more comprehensive guide of victim or survivor resources on campus and in the L.A. area, improving the treatment of victims or survivors by different campus entities like UCPD, and more. We will continue activism through various art projects and campaigns, such as the Clothesline Display. We will create safe spaces for survivors, such as hosting survivor speak outs. We plan to address the effects of sexual violence on communities that are often left out of most discussions regarding sexual assault, such as LGBTQ communities and victims or survivors who identify as male. We also plan to focus more efforts on addressing domestic violence or intimate partner violence and childhood sexual abuse.
