ARKANSAS ADVANCED PLACEMENT EQUIPMENT & MATERIALS GRANT APPLICATION
The Arkansas Department of Education, Division of Elementary and Secondary Education is pleased to offer 2023-2024 equipment and materials grants for Advanced Placement (AP) courses.  A grant may be requested for an AP course being taught at a high school that has not recently received a grant for the course.  Funds are limited, priority will be given to new AP courses that have not previously been offered at the school.  Grant awards will be a maximum of $1,000 each.  For the purpose of this funding opportunity, materials are defined as instructional items (books, manipulatives, etc.), and equipment as any necessary device (graphing calculators, etc.) directly related to the curriculum of the College Board Advanced Placement course.

Applications must be submitted no later than October 20, 2023.  If a school is submitting more than one application (no more than three per high school), rank the applications according to priority for funding. Applicants will be notified of their application status by November 15, 2023.  If approved, purchases should be completed as soon as possible to ensure students receive maximum benefit from the materials.  Proof of purchases (paid invoices) must be received no later than January 10, 2024.  If documentation of purchases is not received by the deadline, grant funds will not be awarded.

  4. Cost of shipping and tax for each vendor 
*The maximum amount for a single grant is $1,000. If the grant is approved, the payment request submitted for reimbursement must match this list.  

Back-ordered items will be approved if documentation indicates the items have been ordered.  

Changes must be approved prior to purchasing items.  Email requests for changes to jennifer.wenger@ade.arkansas.gov.  
The submission of this form indicates application approval by appropriate district staff and acknowledgement of the following requirements:
  1. The teacher of the course listed in this application has completed the required training for the course or is on an approved Additional Training Plan (ATP).
  2. The course listed in the application has been authorized as an AP course for 2023-2024 by College Board.
  3. Students are enrolled in the course for which funding is requested.
  4. All equipment and materials purchased must be directly related to the implementation of the approved AP course.
  5. Grant applicants will be notified of the status of their application by November 15, 2023.
  6. Proof of Payment (paid invoices) must be received by the Office of Gifted & Talented and Advanced Placement no later than January 10, 2024. Invoices must show a "0" balance.
  7. One reimbursement will be made after the submission of Proof of Payment (paid invoices) to the Office of Gifted & Talented and Advanced Placement (jennifer.wenger@ade.arkansas.gov).
