This week-long celebration travels to schools across Rhode Island from Tuesday, January 16th through Friday, January 19th, 2018. During this time, local Rhode Island Black Storytellers (RIBS) tellers and spoken word artists, as well as invited national and international guests will be available to visit your school. The celebration then culminates in a two-day storytelling festival held in Providence and Westerly on the weekend of January 21st (Check our website for details: www.ribsfest.org).
Rhode Island Black Storytellers will arrange for a storyteller to perform in your school at a date and time of your choice – during school hours, after school from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, and evenings.
FEES$400 Standard rate, one performance, 45-60 minutes in length
$750 Reduced rate for double bookings. Shows must be booked back to back, with the same storyteller.
$1050 Reduced rate for three bookings in one day. Shows must be booked back to back.
Please submit completed form by Friday, January 5, 2018 so that we can accommodate your request.
We can also provide supplemental material for your curriculum, along with specific information as to which particular common core standards are addressed through storytelling.
We hope you’ll take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to add storytelling to your curriculum and to expose your students to the richness of Black history and African culture worldwide.
If you have any questions please contact Pattie Horton, Funda Fest Schools Coordinator at 919-641-6569 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to sharing the art of storytelling with the students in your school.
