Service and Fundraising
As a student participating in ASB it is important that you complete the required service and fundraiser activities. These things are required of you to help your group establish a bond, support the ASB program, and give back to St. John Student Center. The required service and fundraisers are listed below.

Service:
1) Prepare/serve a Sunday Supper with your group
2) Participate in one local service activity planned by your group leader.

Fundraisers:
1) Poinsettia Sale on either the weekend of Nov 19, Nov 26, Dec 3 or Dec 10 (if you've missed the Poinsettia Sale, we will ask you to help with another Sunday Supper)
2) Auction with a Twist on Dec 7, 2018

Payment 1, $130 required with application & liability release waiver
Payment 2, $130 due Friday Dec 7
Payment 3, $130 due Friday Feb 1

Withdrawals from ASB after December 14, 2018 will result in a loss of your down payment.

Withdrawals from ASB after Feb 1 could result in a loss of your entire payment, depending on our ability to replace you on the trip that you committed to.

Scholarships are based on financial need only.
Scholarships are available for up to half the cost of the trip.

-For every $10 of scholarship support, we require one hour of service to the parish. This can be extra Sunday Suppers, clerical assistance in the offices, and more.

-Due to the nature of service trips, some accommodations may require students to provide their own sleeping bags or air mattresses, and sleep in communal space. Each trip offers different accommodations- some are at retreat houses, others are at local churches.

All accommodations are guaranteed to be safe, but individuals should be flexible with their expectations for comfort, and be eager to experience a short period of solidarity with those less fortunate.
