This position will begin in October of 2024. It requires general skills as a maintenance person and “handyman”; ability to be able to move through the day and occasionally lift or assist with lifting heavy objects; ability to be able to walk and be mobile or work in occasional inclement weather conditions; and excellent communication skills combined with creative, proactive problem-solving capabilities.
In your position, you will work closely with Ben and Jessa Greenfield and their twin 16-year-old sons, River and Terran. If you have an interest in or passion for health, fitness, biohacking, nutrition, permaculture and farm life, then that is all a definite bonus!
Caretaking and house/property management responsibilities will include:
-Ability to be able to be onsite between ~9:30-10am and ~3:30-4pm on weekdays with occasional availability on weekends. If you have a second job or work online/virtually, you are welcome to work separately, and this is actually a perfect position for someone who also has a second job for mornings/evenings and on weekends.
-Receiving, opening and sorting incoming business and household-related packages and mail, including scanning and communication of pertinent mail items to Ben’s accounting, insurance and legal teams.
-Preparing, boxing and shipping outgoing business and household-related packages and mail.
-Care, cleaning and maintenance of appliances, electronics, fireplace and biohacking and fitness equipment.
-Hot tub and cold plunge water balancing and filter maintenance.
-HVAC, refrigerator, printer and other appliance supply and filter maintenance.
-When housekeeper is unavailable, general house cleaning and upkeep, including countertops, bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen, office, dining spaces and living room with vacuuming/sweeping, windows, garbage and trash removal, recycling and cardboard breakdown, etc.
-Grocery shopping and meal preparation when extra help is needed for dinner parties, special events, social functions, etc.
-Animal care, housesitting, dogsitting and yard, home and farm chores if Greenfield family is traveling or otherwise absent.
-Yard care, lawn mowing, assistance with gardening and farm projects.
-Garage, tools and hardware cleaning, organization and maintenance.
-General vehicle maintenance and assistance with driving, airport rides, bringing vehicles into dealership when necessary, etc.
-Coordination and scheduling with delivery personnel, contractors (such as plumbers, electricians, etc.) when necessary.
-Record keeping and journaling of all activities conducted in your position to create a complete “playbook” for your position for any time you are unable to work or on vacation.
-Finally, experience with livestock care, permaculture, regenerative agriculture and farming are not required but are highly desirable criteria for the Greenfield family when hiring for this position.
Compensation is salaried, beginning at 52K/year with bonuses and benefits including health, vision and dental insurance, along with overtime pay for any weeks that involve more than six hours work on weekdays.
If on-site lodging is desired, then compensation can be adjusted, because a three bedroom/two bathroom home is available on the property as a perfect live-in location for the caretaker or caretaking family. Alternate compensation scenarios are also fully open for discussion prior to hiring.
