2017 Canada Summer Games Phase 1 Team Alberta Trials

Registration ends April 14, 2017 at 4 pm. The tournament fee is $20.

All finalists are expected to remain in Edmonton following the trials for a team bonding event and camp on Sunday, April, 23.

All competitors must be current members in good standing with the Alberta Amateur Wrestling Association and meet the eligibility criteria outlined by the Canada Summer Games. If an athlete is not a current AAWA member (ex. a school athlete), a $10 daily insurance fee will apply in addition to the tournament fee. If said athlete makes the Team Alberta Training Team, they will be charged an additional $55 to become a full member in order to participate in the Canada Summer Games Training Program (Annual AAWA Membership = $65).

It is also asked that all participants have, or be in the process of acquiring, a passport. International travel will be included as part of the Canada Summer Games Training Program.

Weigh-ins will be Friday, April 21, 2017 between 6:00 - 7:00 pm in the University of Alberta Wrestling Room. There will be NO weight allowance.

Please note, that while you are asked to indicate your intended weight class, the athlete can weigh in for any weight. However, if selected to the Team Alberta Training Team, the final wrestle-off on May 20, 2017 must be at the weight class wrestled at the Phase 1 Trials.
