Farmland and Ranchland Succession & Land Transfer Planning in Washington State

American Farmland Trust, NRCS-Washington, Washington Association of Land Trusts, and the Washington State Conservation Commission (SCC) Office of Farmland Preservation are working together to understand opportunities and needs for enhancing statewide farmland and ranchland succession and land transfer planning. We would like to hear from you how and if we can support your existing efforts or help you build new capacity to respond to landowners and land seekers regarding this topic. 

For the purposes of this survey “succession and land transfer planning” refer to the full suite of processes and steps necessary to transition land from one entity to another including estate planning, farm business planning, land access, land protection, and more.

This survey is designed to gather information from staff and board members. Multiple representatives from your organization are encouraged to complete the survey. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Alexandra James at alex@skagitcd.org or (360) 899-2036.
