CHEER Lab Interest Form
Thank you for your interest in the CHEER Lab! Please answer the following questions so we can get to know you and see how you can get involved.

The CHEER Lab experience consists of two 0-credit (no-cost) courses:

IPE 1020: Research Skills Training 
One semester of research skills training through online learning modules, application activities, and weekly in-person meetings.
Time estimate: 3-4 hours/week

IPE 3020: Research Skills Applications 
Apply your research skills and gain hands-on experience by working on faculty-led research projects.
Prerequisite: IPE 1020

The registration deadline for Fall 2024 is Friday, September 13th. If you fill out an interest form after this time, we will reach out to you about joining the following semester.

After this interest form is filled out, we will submit an override request for you to register for IPE 1020. You will then receive an email confirmation and be able to register for the course on MySail. We will contact students via email with any additional questions or information.

In IPE 1020, we have a mandatory 1-hour, in-person group meeting every week. There are also about 2-3 hours of independent online learning modules and assignments. Please see the flyer above for updated meeting times.
Are you interested in being involved in the CHEER Lab for at least 2 semesters? *
IPE 1020 is the one-semester research skills training course. After training is complete, students are given the opportunity to enroll in IPE 3020 to work on faculty-led research projects for every semester thereafter.
