Georgia Southern University Student Media candidate/intern application Fall 2019 - Statesboro campus
This is the application for Statesboro campus students seeking to enter the Candidate Program for reporting/writing, videography, photography or design, or for internships in sales or marketing. Questions may be directed to dsimpson@georgiasouthern.edu.

ALL PROGRAMS WILL BEGIN WITH A GENERAL MEETING AT 6:30 P.M. TUESDAY, SEPT. 3, IN CARROLL BUILDING ROOM 2262. At that meeting, you may change your mind about which training program to pursue.If you are unable to attend the Sept. 3 meeting, please contact David Simpson at dsimpson@georgiasouthern.edu.

Boot Camp option for Editorial candidates ONLY. Recommended ONLY for students who have prior experience such as a high school newspaper or yearbook or other experience interviewing people. An Editorial Boot Camp will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept 6. Students who complete the boot camp may skip four Tuesday night classes and begin newsroom work earlier. Boot Camp option for Studio candidates ONLY. Available ONLY for students who have completed Comm 2332 Media and Society; MMFP 2331 Multimedia Production; and MMFP 2336 Audio Recording and Sound Design. In addition, you must have completed or be enrolled in Fall 2019 in MMFP 3331 Single Camera Production. Students who complete the boot camp may skip most Tuesday night classes and begin newsroom work earlier. For more information, click the box below.
Proficiency option for Creative candidates ONLY. Students with specific experience may be exempted from some Tuesday night classes if they demonstrate proficiency in InDesign software and/or photography skills. For more information, click the appropriate box(es) below.
