VOA Officers Application Form
To be qualified for Office, a candidate must be a registered member in good standing with their own unit as well as with the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council. They must also be of Venturing age during their entire term of office.

Terms of Position for VOA Officers

President

• Presiding over all meetings, and functions of the VOA.
• Planning, and leading the regular meetings of the VOA.
• Serving as the Executive Officer of the VOA.
• Serving as a representative of the VOA, and all Ventures, to the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council.
• Working with Volunteer Advisers, and Staff Advisers of the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council VOA, and with the Presidents of Units, The Area S4 VOA, The Southern Region VOA, and the National VOA.
• Works with the Volunteer Advisory to select subsidiary Advisers.
• Oversees the selection process of incoming Officers.
• Assists the VOA Officers with the selection of subsidiary chairs.
• Motivates, and coordinates other Officers of the VOA.
• Mentors Presidents on the Unit level.
• Tracks all goals of the VOA, and reports to the Council Vice President of Program.
• Currently registered as a Youth in a Venturing Unit.
• Lives by, and sets an example of, the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Vice President of Administration

• Works with a Volunteer Associate Adviser of the VOA.
• In consultation with the VOA President, appoints, and supervises subsidiary chairs to perform administrative functions of the VOA.
• Develops, and implements strategies to increase Venturing membership within Greater Tampa Bay Area Council.
• Develops, and maintains a knowledge of the customs, and traditions of BSA Chartered Organizations, religious groups, businesses, and other groups of interest to the VOA.
• Promotes, and organizes the youth officer selection process.
• Promotes, and facilitates the selection, and presentation of the Venturing Leadership Award within the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council.
• Maintains record of recognition, membership, Officer Selections, and VOA Leadership alumni.
• Keeps contact with VOA Leadership alumni for possible future mentors, and Advisers, as needed.
• In conjunction with Vice President of Communication maintains rosters of VOA members, frequently involved persons, including as many communication paths as possible, and identifies preferred communication routes.
• Performs any other duties as assigned by the President.
• Currently registered as a Youth in a Venturing Unit.
• Lives by, and sets an example of, the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Vice President of Programs

• Works with a Volunteer Associate Adviser of the VOA.
• In consultation with the VOA President, appoints, and supervises subsidiary chairs to perform program functions of the VOA.
• Facilitates internal Training events of the VOA.
• Promotes external training events, and maintains a knowledge base of training opportunities for all Youth, and adult members in Venturing.
• Oversees the planning, and operations for any Council level Venturing activities, and events, Excluding fundraising events.
• Performs any other duties as assigned by the President.
• Currently registered as a Youth in a Venturing Unit.
• Lives by, and sets an example of, the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Vice President of Communications

• In consultation with the President, appoints, and supervises subsidiary chairs to perform communication functions of the VOA.
• Works with a Volunteer Associate Adviser.
• Actively remains aware of the best ways to communicate with the VOA, and the Ventures, and Sea Scouts of Greater Tampa Bay Area Council.
• Ensures that the VOAs web presence and the Council Venturing Website is being maintained, updated, and scaled, to ensure the best publication of information, and collection of feedback.
• Oversees the publication of a newsletter, including information on past, present, and future activities, and projects; also, including stories noteworthy to Ventures of Greater Tampa Bay Area Council.
• Submits articles to Scouting Media.
• Actively pursues opportunities for increased VOA exposure, by submitting articles, comments, photos, and upcoming event announcements to external media outlets.
• Maintains Social Media profiles for Venturing in Greater Tampa Bay Area Council, and the VOA.
• Develops, and maintains tools to communicate using a variety of methods of communication such as telephone, text message, email, and postal mail, as appropriate.
• In conjunction with the Vice President of Administration maintains rosters of VOA members, frequently involved persons, including as many communication paths as possible, and identifies preferred communication routes.
• Develops, updates, maintains, and makes readily available marketing strategies, solutions, and materials.
• Actively pursues contact information for people, groups, and businesses of interest to the VOA.
• Performs any other duties as assigned by the President.
• Currently registered as a Youth in a Venturing Unit.
• Lives by, and sets an example of, the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Treasurer

• In consultation with the President, appoints, and supervises subsidiary chairs to perform financial functions of the VOA.
• Works with a Volunteer Associate Adviser.
• Oversees the finances of the VOA.
• Maintains, and makes readily available, a financial report for each regular VOA meeting.
• Oversees the planning, and operation of any fundraising activities, events, and drives.
• Performs any other duties as assigned by the President.
• Currently registered as a Youth in a Venturing Unit.
• Lives by, and sets an example of, the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
