2024 AAJA Scholarships Judges Application Form
The Asian American Journalists Association is recruiting judges for the AAJA Scholarships Committee.  Whether you’re a seasoned journalist or just starting out, we have opportunities for both judges and screeners. A diverse set of journalists will be appointed to review the entries and select the finalists and winners.

What are the AAJA scholarships, internships, fellowships, and grants?

AAJA offers up to $20,000 in scholarships and grants to journalism students every year. These scholarships are made possible by supporters such as AAJA members, allies and generous donors. Scholarship judges will:

  • Have opportunities to select and connect with outstanding members.
  • Grant financial and professional support to AAJA members pursuing their journalism careers.
  • Help build the next generation of AAPI journalists.

  • Must have an active AAJA membership.
  • You don’t need to be a full-time journalist or editor, but you must have a passion for and professional experience in journalism.
  • Must attend a judging training.
  • Schedule and time commitment: About four hours a month from February through the AAJA convention in August. This includes reviewing approximately 10 entries in each of the scholarships/category(s) you are appointed to judge and amplify scholarship winners.
  • Must participate in a review call for each category you are appointed to judge.
  • Agree to the Scholarships Judges Agreement and abide by the AAJA Code of Conduct

If you are interested in joining the Scholarships, Fellowships, and Internship Grants Committee, please fill out the required information in the form.
