We provide financial support, advocacy, and community engagement to address systemic inequities and expand access to quality education to close the gaps in resources and opportunities.
OverviewThe Bridging the Gap grant is a pilot program designed to empower educators within Redwood City School District (RCSD) to create innovative, equity-focused classroom projects that directly benefit underserved students. This initiative aims to address resource disparities and support the unique needs of students in our district, improving engagement, achievement, and access to enrichment.
Grant Details- Funding: Grants of up to $500 will be awarded to support eligible projects. Collaborative proposals among teachers or between grade levels are encouraged.
- Projects may include but are not limited to: academic interventions, purchasing culturally relevant, specialized learning materials or supplies, creating inclusive classroom environments, enrichment activities that promote engagement and achievement, hosting guest speakers, providing field trip scholarships, developing parent engagement initiatives or translators for meetings or activities.
- Selection & Review: Applications will be reviewed promptly, and recipients may expect to be notified within 30 days of submission.
- Data Collection: Information gathered from funded projects will guide future grant cycles and RCEF’s broader strategy to address systemic inequities in education.
