Petition for Solidarity With UChicago Faculty Forward
Sign your name below to support our petition to support better benefits, pay, and working conditions for non-tenure-track faculty (NTT) at the University of Chicago.

As of now, Faculty Forward is still in process of negotiating a contract with the University. This process began two years ago in early 2016 and has been dragged out by the University. If the University and Faculty Forward cannot reach a mutually beneficial contract by the end of March, Faculty Forward plans to escalate with a possible job action, which could include a work stoppage—but as a last resort.

It would take less than 1% of college tuition revenue to dramatically increase the pay and working conditions for non-tenure track faculty. It’s the teachers, educators, staff, and faculty of the University that enrich it and give it life—it’s time to show that we, the UChicago community, stand in solidarity with Faculty Forward.

UChicago Faculty Forward gives a voice to non-tenure-track faculty, who are advocating for three basic things:

(1) A reasonable, living wage.
(2) The same benefits as tenure-track faculty, including parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
(3) An improvement in working conditions: predictable contract lengths, a path to promotion, transparent performance review procedures, and the possibility for green-card sponsorship.
