2019 Internship Application
Internships are currently only open to SUNY Maritime students in their second year who are U.S. citizens.

The SLNC internship has three components: a scholarship, a two to four-week internship at SLNC headquarters in Annapolis, and the opportunity to participate in the cadet shipping program aboard one of our U.S. Flag vessels.

The program is designed to complement the cadet’s sea term. Interns would report to SLNC headquarters in Annapolis for their internship for 2-3 weeks either before/after they complete sea term.

- Have applied to the SUNY Cadet Shipping Program
- Completed third class MUG tour
- Completed requisite commercial cadet shipping courses
- Be at least 18 years of age

After completing an internship cycle, graduation, and licensing, SLNC may choose to offer a job to the candidate pending successful graduation/certification and training. Billets across the SLNC fleet will be offered through union employment and the company can provide guidance during the internship to assist.
