CNC Router Basics Class - Athens Makerspace

If you’re a Maker who wants to learn what CNC machines are, how they work, and how to use them, but you’ve been intimidiated by the terminology or had no idea what questions to ask, then this class is for you!

You’ll lWe'll cover cutting flat panels for flatpack furniture, carving complex 3D forms, CNC router operation, G-code basics, design principals and techniques, and how to get your designs out of the computer and onto our CNC machine.

Software we will use in the class: VCarve Pro, Fusion 360, Vectric Aspire, Mach3

Please note this is an extended class of 12 hours so it will be split into three 4-hour sessions, be sure to be available on all sessions. By taking this class you are entitled to 1 hour of assisted private practice session and any other help (within reason!) to get you machining your own designs!

Class notes and slides will be in English but depending on the participants the class may be conducted in Greek.

By completing this class you become a certified CNC user and you will be able to use and reserve any CNC machinery in the makerspace for life!
