Affiliation

At the IGB World Championships, each competitor will have a specific affiliation (i.e. country or US State). You are eligible to compete for a country or US State if any of these methods apply to you: 1) you have citizenship of that country or in the process of becoming a citizen of a country (Overseas Citizenship of India counts for this) 2) you were born in that country or state 3) you resided in that country or state for the majority of the 2017-18 school year (August 2017-June 2018) 4) you attended a school (but not university) in that country or state during that time. You can only select one affiliation. This can be adjusted later if needed until June 25, 2018. Affiliation requests may be subject to verification procedures at the discretion of IGB staff. Please describe any other special needs below (e.g., wheelchair accessibility) including a desire to have your child stay with you at the parents and family hotel. Note that students with health needs who need to stay with a parent(s) or guardian at the parents and family hotel may do this. If they do this at double occupancy, the parent pays single occupancy, and then there is no surcharge for the student. If the student stays with two people in the room, and the room is thus triple occupancy, there is a $100 surcharge for the student ($150 if competing in both the IGB World Championships and the Intl. History Olympiad), and the parents otherwise pay double occupancy.

Are you planning on staying over at the hotel on the night of July 10, 17, or 18?

The official arrival day for IGB Worlds is July 11. There is the option to stay one extra night at the start or one or two extra nights at the end (July 10, 17, 18). Please see the IGB Worlds website (specifically the Parents and Family Members tab on the menu bar) for detailed information on costs for extra nights.

How do you plan on paying?

Payments are due between Feb. 10 and April 10 - we will not take payments before then. If payment is not made by April 10, prices may rise if needed to cover additional surcharges at the youth hostel, as our room rate and availability is only guaranteed through then. Upon registration, we will send an invoice. Note that payments by cash or US check (possibly) will be accepted at any IHBB Regional, but we are not yet certain of this.
