The mission of the Red Hills Community Cemetery (RHCC) is to preserve and protect the land using natural burial methods. The vision of the RHCC is to create an expansive, affordable, protected, and natural cemetery in the Red Hills region which supports environmental conservation and biodiversity. RHCC aspires to create meaningful relationships between people, life, death, and ecosystems.
The RHCC will be a natural burial ground or “green” conservation cemetery which will allow full body interment in the ground in a shroud or biodegradable container using minimal heavy equipment for burial and landscaping, and without using formaldehyde-based embalming or concrete burial vaults.
The RHCC will be a Community Cemetery, and interment rights will be distributed through membership in the RHCC. Once the cemetery is established, an RHCC Membership will entitle members to an interment certificate outlining specifics related to the plot, interment, and other pertinent details.
