Chippewa County Animal Shelter - Prison Dog Program Application
Thank you so much for your interest in one of our currently enrolled Prison Program students.
Background:
Dogs stay in the prison for 12 weeks; they are each assigned two handlers and reside in a dorm style setting with five other dogs.  The dogs are taught basic cues including "sit", "down", "stay", re-call ("come"), "place", as well as leash skills and how to meet a friendly stranger.  Because of the amount of time spent training each dog as well as the time spent evaluating each dog’s unique personality, we require additional information compared to a standard adoption - please answer the following questions if you are interested in adopting one of these dogs.
