Volunteer for WCSO's Porch Pirate Operation

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is seeking volunteers from unincorporated areas of Washoe County to help with a sting operation targeting thieves who attempt to steal packages left at residential doorways. The operation is scheduled to occur in various areas throughout Washoe County over the next several weeks (11/26/25 – 1/1/26) due to the high number of package deliveries expected during the holiday season.

We have seen a high level of interest in participation in this operation in previous years, and we are grateful for the overwhelming response from our community. You will be contacted by phone or email if your home is selected to participate this year.
