The Special Olympics is the world's largest sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, providing year-round training and competitions to 5 million athletes and Unified States Sports partners in 172 countries. Special Olympics is the leading voice in raising awareness about the abilities of people with intellectual disabilities. Through sports and leadership activities, this organisation aims to spread awareness and a vision of inclusion at the global as well as the local stage. Special Olympics Bharat is a National Sports Federation accredited by Special Olympics International to conduct Special Olympics Programs in India. It is recognized by the Government of India as a National Sports Federation in the Priority Category, for development of Sports for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities. We, at Scottish High, have always supported the endeavours of Special Olympics by organising unified activities and awareness campaigns. This year, to celebrate 50 years of Special Olympics, we have organised the SHIS Sports Fiesta & Intra Special Olympics SHISMUN’18.
