Farmers Market Fund Board Interest Form 2024
We are a non-profit organization looking for potential board members to share their life experiences, skills, and ideas with the Farmers Market Fund (FMF) Board.

FMF makes healthy, locally grown fruits and vegetables accessible to families and individuals throughout Oregon who are food insecure.

We are looking for passionate and committed individuals to join our board and support our mission of providing healthy fresh foods to Oregonians experiencing food insecurity. This year we are especially looking for applicants who can represent smaller rural communities; marginalized racial, gender, age, ability, and/or economic groups; farmers or farmers market managers; broader food systems expertise, excitement for fundraising, and/or experience with strategic planning.

FMF's main program is Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB), a SNAP matching program at farmers markets across Oregon. We believe DUFB is a triple win: families bring home more fruits and veggies, small and mid-sized farmers get a financial boost, and Oregon's economy thrives.

This is an exciting time of growth for FMF. Thanks to state and federal funding, as well as generous partners and individual donors, we have expanded DUFB to farmers markets and farm stand in every corner of the state as well as to select grocery stores and CSAs. We are also diving into planning for the future growth and expansion of the organization.

FMF is run by a small staff and an active board of directors. We are excited to grow our board with members from across Oregon who share our passion for supporting local farms and ensuring all Oregonians have access to nutritious, locally-grown fruits and veggies.

Board members can expect to volunteer an average of 5 - 6 hours of their time per month through participation in board meetings, committee meetings, and other work. Board meetings are held the second Tuesday evening of each month for 90 minutes; committee meetings are held once monthly for 60 minutes.

Our success lies in our diversity and passion: we encourage all community members with different backgrounds, experiences, and passions to apply.
