The Scratch Conference Europe 2019: Call for participation

The Scratch Conference is a place to explore the creative ways in which people are programming and learning with Scratch! The 2019 Scratch Conference Europe will take place in Cambridge, UK, from Friday 23 August to Sunday 25 August.

We are putting together a full and exciting schedule of participatory activities led by members of the Scratch community. This is where YOU come in — we want you to participate!

This call is open to participants across the globe, and the deadline for submitting your idea is Friday 1 March.

We warmly welcome young people under 18 as session facilitators; they must be supported by an adult.

We are looking for the following content:

Friday afternoon
Project demo: showcase a project (either by yourself or with young people) to encourage interaction and play a vital role in welcoming delegates!

Saturday/Sunday
Workshop, 50 min. + 10 min. changeover: engage us in a hands-on computational activity; classroom-type seating
Discussion, 30 min.: suggest a topic and key discussion points/questions; informal seating
Presentation, up to 20 min.: choose a relevant subject; in main auditorium
Ignite talk, 5 min.: be bold, challenge our thinking, spark interest; in small auditorium
Poster, 2-hour session: one trestle table, one power socket, approx. 1m sq space to display your content

All session leaders will be given free entry to the whole conference, we regret that we are unable to reimburse hotel or travel costs.
