As 2027 is an off-year for regions hosting, WAANZ is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from clubs and/or regions willing to partner in delivering the event in their area. This process is intended to identify suitable locations and confirm local capability, support, and readiness to assist WAANZ in event delivery.
Applicants are not bidding to be the host organisation, but are instead confirming their ability and willingness to support hosting requirements in partnership with WAANZ.
Please note the proposed event dates are in the school holidays, and are as follows
- Thurs 15th to Sunday 18th April 2027
- Thurs 22th to Sunday 25th April 2027 (Anzac Day observed Monday 26th)
- Thurs 30th Sept to Sunday 3rd October 2027
- Thurs 7th to Sunday 10th October 2027
If your EOI is shortlisted, WAANZ will confirm which applicants will progress to the next phase, where a detailed hosting proposal will be requested.
As part of this EOI process, applicants must seek and secure regional support for their application prior to submission. A formal letter or email of regional support can be sent to events@wakaama.co.nz
Following successful selection, WAANZ will enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the successful host partner. This MOU will outline the respective roles, responsibilities, and requirements of both WAANZ and the host partner in delivering LDNs 2027.
