ABOUT US: Los Angeles Community Fridges is a network of decentralized, independent refrigerators and pantries that provide food and vital supplies to our communities through mutual aid.

MISSION: Our mission is to strengthen communities & redistribute existing resources by providing tools and frameworks to ensure people-supported, ongoing, equal access to healthy food. We believe a community knows what’s best for themselves. We also know that every location is unique and has different needs.

VALUES: LACF’s values are Community, Trust, Equality, Resource Redistribution and Mutual Aid.
We encourage any individuals who are part of our network to embody these values as they work to serve their communities.

HOW IT WORKS: We provide a scalable, repeatable framework to get refrigerators up and running for the communities that want them, so that they may work autonomously to support the needs at hand. Anyone can drop off or pick up food (produce, pantry items, frozen goods, baby food, dog food) or sanitary items at any fridge during its open hours.

By joining the Slack, you agree to foster an inclusive, trustworthy environment, online and at the fridges. Do not engage in or promote any behaviors that endanger the physical or psychological well-being of fridge visitors and/or volunteers, including but not limited to: racism, classism, homophobia, transphobia, or public health misinformation. *
Do not call the cops or film our neighbors: Every champion of LA Community Fridges is a representative of the whole. To maintain the trust and well being of our neighborhoods, we do not support or condone surveillance or the presence of law enforcement at LA Community Fridges. Many visitors who use the fridge are disproportionately targeted and harmed by the police, and it’s crucial that police are not called on our visitors. *
Have you already attended an LACF orientation? (It's not a requirement, just wondering 😉)
