Committing to GIN Ethos as a GIN Conference Host
The host school must participate in a regional GIN Conference prior to applying to host their own conference. At least one team must represent the future host school and learn through experience what will be expected of them.

Commitment to Actively Lowering, Offsetting and Sequestering Carbon on your Campus
The GIN conference values actively lowering its carbon footprint through a commitment to "paperless" virtual educational programming. All participants are encouraged to bring a “device”. The host school will make computers available for incoming participants who do not have access to a device.

40 classrooms total to include presentation spaces and global village meeting places
20 large classrooms for presentations and audience (These classrooms can cross over with the initial required classrooms)
Your school is committed to reducing use of all plastics and banning single-use plastic to include your dining facility and food service providers
Your school committed to composting and managing food waste
Keynote space that can “seat” all participants including students from the host school supporting the conference
Be able to provide excellent AV in all presentation spaces. The keynote space must have high quality sound and video capabilities.

We are working hard to support our global community and request that all conference organizers include a donation to GIN International.

*We request our participants to contribute $20 USD to GIN International for hosting a regional conference to be included in the Registration
*We request our participants to contribute $10 USD to GIN International for hosting a Local Conference o be included in the Registration
* We also request $10 be contributed by every student to offset the carbon footprint of the conference To be included in the Registration. THIS MONEY IS GIVEN TO THE HOST SCHOOL TO OFFSET THE CARBON.

If you are holding a conference in partnership with a regional organization: Once you have thoroughly read and familiarized yourself with the Guide to Hosting A GIN Conference we ask that you take steps to register with GIN and the regional website as a host school. You may then post your conference calendar including registration, theme and conference details to the GIN website,

The Commitment To Global Citizenry & Your Community
The GIN Director confirms that the school being considered has the capacity/tech capabilities and has the commitment to foster GIN community for at least a years time before hosting the conference and after the conference with this pledge. We,______________________________________________ commit to fostering and maintaining an empowered GIN community and GIN programming at our school, via documentation of our GIN programming with a virtual presence on the GIN main site, with long term sustainable goals and projects that support continued GIN efforts and our goal of becoming and maintaining a status as a GIN School. Following your conference, we also request you to attend the next student-led GIN Conference in your region. We ask you to mentor the upcoming GIN Planning Team through-out the entire process. This must be signed and published to our website by admin, staff and students who are involved.
