IAMMA’s strongest asset is its membership and our member’s willingness to share skills, knowledge and expertise. Putting that talent into action by volunteering for a committee can be your first step to an active role in IAMMA.

Volunteering provides tremendous benefits including personal growth, professional development, and developing relationships with colleagues along the way.

Communications Committee

Provides support to the various committees by deploying communications in support of activities, including: IAMMA website, social media platforms, and ILCMA Community liaison with ILCMA.
Conference Committee
Plans the annual IAMMA Conference held in early spring, providing a full-day of high quality professional development on a variety of topics.
Next Generation Committee
One of the primary functions of the Membership Development Committee is to increase the awareness of the public management profession. To promote the profession, the Membership Development Committee promotes IAMMA to regional MPA/MPP programs, and identifies ways to promote the profession and IAMMA to the next generation of leaders. This committee works with the ILCMA Promote the Profession Committee on joint efforts to promote the value of professional management. Current programs include IAMMA Night Out, five-year university outreach plan and outreach to potential new members.
Professional Development Committee
The Professional Development Committee is responsible for providing IAMMA membership and other interested professionals in the municipal field, and opportunity to gain knowledge on a specific issue or topic affecting the industry at the time or to provide personal professional development and growth. Sessions include luncheons and professional development seminars.
Service and Activities Committee
The Service and Activities Committee promotes social and service programs through IAMMA membership. Current programs include the annual Angel Tree Program, regional social events, Euchre (and sometimes Bags) Tournament at the Winter Conference, and annual IAMMA service project.
