40th Ward Neighbor Network Volunteer Sign-Up
Neighbors in the 40th Ward understand fundamentally that we are one community, willing to support one another in need.

The Neighbor Network is a volunteer mutual aid network, organized by the 40th Ward office in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Since its inception, we have made thousands of wellness calls, hundreds of house visits, and tens of thousands of mask deliveries, including our Ward's very own Sewing Guard hand-sewn masks!

Neighbor Network activities are ongoing, both in continuing response to COVID-19 and to meet other local needs and grassroots organizing goals.

If you are interested and able to volunteer, please complete this form and we will be in touch with more information soon!

Thank you for being a part of our community!

Virtual Front Desk
Since the physical Ward Office is closed due to COVID-19, we are always in need of volunteers to help answer phones during regular business hours. Typical shifts are two or three hours long and volunteers sign up for shifts that fit their schedule. We provide training and a 40th Ward staff member is available via slack during your shift should you have any questions.

Solutions Team
The Solutions Team is the other side of our constituent services team, and works on resolving issues that come into the Ward Office by phone or email -- the digital equivalent to our office volunteer and internship positions pre-COVID. We provide in-depth training for Solutions Team volunteers, and request that they work at least three Virtual Front Desk shifts first to gain some familiarity with the common issues and intake process.
