40th Ward COVID-19 Community Response Volunteer Sign-Up
Are you able to help your neighbors in need?

Neighbors in the 40th ward understand fundamentally that we are one community, willing to support one another in these trying times. As we each become accustomed to our new normal, we are looking for neighbors to volunteer to support neighbors living independently.

Right now, that will mean daily wellness check-ins for our vulnerable populations (seniors/undocumented neighbors/ non- English speakers) by telephone and email. As time goes on, we may need volunteers to assist with other tasks.

If you are interested and able to volunteer for daily check-ins, please complete this form and we will be in touch with more information soon!

Thank you for being a part of our community!

Volunteer Team Opportunities
Our Neighbor Network is comprised of various teams to support our 40th Ward Community.
So that we can best organize those efforts, please let us know which teams you would be most interested in being a part of!

Here is a brief breakdown of those teams:

Call Crew: Make calls to neighbors in the ward to see if they need support (i.e.Wellness Checks/Pickup and Drop off help).

Field Team: Help with no-contact pick up and drop off of resources (this would occur typically on Tues/Wed/Thurs)

Comms Team: Help us tell the stories of the Neighbor Network through social media/email/media.

Legislative Research Team: Assist with researching and drafting legislation to address the current moment.

Events Team: Develops virtual events and activities to keep our community connected while helping folks stay at home (i.e. sing alongs, book clubs, trivia night, kids reading time, etc.)

Sewing Guard - A team of neighbors who want to sew masks that we can then distribute to our retail workers and other folks in need.

Virtual Front Desk - Answer constituent calls to the 40th Ward office and perform other administrative tasks. Two hour shifts.
For the questions below, please select "Yes" if you want to be a part of the particular team, and "no" if you do not.
