CAMTB Survey - Fall 2019
The Steering Committee of the California Mountain Biking Coalition has been diligently developing the necessary paperwork required to form a new 501(c)4 non-profit entity and undertaking work to develop and refine related branding, mission statement, bylaws, articles of incorporation, organizational governance, recruit potential leadership staff, etc. We have retained a qualified lawyer to help us complete the necessary filings and are making progress.

At this point we have received nonprofit fiscal sponsorship via REMBA (Redwood Empire Mountain Bike Alliance), and have received our first $15k corporate sponsorship from J!NS Eyewear - who is committed to improving outdoor recreational opportunities in California.  We couldn't be more proud to have earned their trust towards making CAMTB a reality, and their initial funding has enabled CAMTB to secure seasoned legal representation to help us complete the necessary filings.  We are actively seeking commitments from interested corporate sponsors inside and outside of the bike community.

For some background, you can view a summary of the survey we did of potential member organizations in February of 2019 HERE:   https://drive.google.com/open?id=1DbkxNRPRUZmiiXS4QYX6KjPsPveeWuey

We would love to hear your thoughts or feedback on how we can better serve the needs of you and your organization.  We'd appreciate your prompt replies prior to Wednesday, September 18th.

If you have any questions or need a printed version of these questions to share and discuss between your board members, please reach out to jake@mountainbikealliance.org

Getting Involved...
The CAMTB steering committee will become the CAMTB Board of Directors as soon as the 501c4 filings are complete (est: October).  We've each been working between 5 and 20 fully volunteer hours per week, and anticipate that to remain as a reasonable "working board" commitment level.  The Steering Committee/Board of Directors is an engaged group of individuals that broadly represents different nonprofit bike and trail organizations across the State. We also anticipate having a board vacancy for one or two folks once we're incorporated, and perhaps more if the Board expands in the coming months and years.  Due to the geographic constraints of working all over California, we're fully engaged *regularly* throughout the week using tools like Slack, Google Documents, Email, Hangouts and Google meet. With that in mind...
Do you or anyone else in your organization have interest in being on the leadership team or CAMTB Board of Directors?

Lastly, we are looking for leads for corporate sponsorship.  As you know, CAMTB will always be nonprofit led, and nonprofit first - and we also will always have a need to partner with like-minded businesses who want to see our organizations and our sport thrive.  What corporate organizations can you introduce CAMTB to who might help us all move forwards with bike and trail advocacy in California?
Your Feedback is Critical
From day #1 we knew that CAMTB needed to be different - and better.  CAMTB exists *because* we ALL wanted an organization that could fairly and accurately represent the needs of our organizations at the state and federal level.
We know that the direction of Mountain Biking in California should be guided by you, and policies should be shaped by the people who use, build, and steward mountain bike trails.  Please log in to our Slack platform for immediate engagement - and please help keep CAMTB on the right track by sharing your feedback:
