Lunch Lessons
Most lessons will occur during class but we may ask you to take some lessons during lunch due to scheduling complexities. Would you be willing to take some lessons during lunch?

Note: Students are advised to bring their lunch directly to their lesson so they don't miss a meal. Students can eat while catching up with their teacher, talking about what they need to work on, or listen to a famous recording or video, and then get to playing right after.

After school availability *
Would you be willing to take some lessons after school? Please indicate which days are available. We can adjust in the future if needed and reschedule is conflicts arise.
Lesson Packages
Lessons are available in packages of 12 or 24, as half lessons(30 minutes - $42.50) or full lessons(60 minutes - $75).

Payment is through the school accounting system. An invoice and request for authorization for payment will be sent within a week or two of your application.

30 min vs 60 min Lessons
Half lessons are most suitable for beginner students as a regular check-in and can help ensure a strong start to the year.

Full hour lessons allow for a much more comprehensive and unrushed experience since many students take a while to warm up and gain momentum.

If you start with half lessons, we can upgrade to full lessons at any time.

Please note, half hour lessons are not available for oboe, french horn, percussion, or bass. Those instructors only offer hour lessons.

Guidelines and Expectations
1. Lessons are 30 or 60 minutes long and typically occur weekly during the student's regular music class. Scheduling conflicts may necessitate that some lessons occur after school or at lunch. Greater flexibility in this area is appreciated and will minimize weeks without a lesson.

2. Shortened schedules will be avoided whenever possible but no provisions are made for the occasional shortened schedule. Note: most teachers tend to go overtime during 60 minutes lessons since most SMC periods are 70 minutes. We trust that this extra time will more than make up for the occasional shortened schedule.

3. Lesson times are variable and may occur during different days and periods each week. A weekly schedule will be provided via the Private Lesson Group on Edsby and updated every Friday.

4. It is the student's responsibility to be aware of their lesson time, to be prepared for his lesson, and to report any conflicts via Edsby to Brad Harrison ASAP so the lesson can be rescheduled.

5. There is a 24-hour cancellation policy in effect. Lessons missed with less than 24-hours notice will only be rescheduled at the discretion of the instructor.

6. A refund will be issued in the event that a student has unused lessons at the end of the year. If a student runs out of lessons early, you will have the opportunity to purchase more lessons.

7. I, the parent/guardian, authorize SMC and Brad Harrison to share the contact information provided on this form with our private instructors for the purposes of scheduling and lesson feedback.
