The objective of the Youth Debate is to enhance interest and awareness among ASEAN youths concerning key human rights issues in the region, and the relevant legal instruments and institutional frameworks designed to safeguard the rights. The Debate will provide a platform for an exchange of ideas in relation to contemporary human rights challenges. It will also bring together youths from diverse backgrounds in ASEAN.
AICHR Malaysia seeks to select 4 youths – 3 debaters and 1 observer – to represent Malaysia at the Debate. Participation is open to students who are enrolled in tertiary education at undergraduate level (as at 2 August 2017).
