Welcome to TEDxCU and thank you so much for applying. We are thrilled that you are interested in joining our team. We are all very passionate about what we do and take our jobs very seriously, and we expect the same level of enthusiasm from all of our applicants. Anyone applying (except for speaker coaches) Must be an undergrad student attending CU. For the people who are just discovering TEDxCU and don't know what we do, our team is responsible for planning and hosting a TEDx event in the second semester of every year. Our team works throughout the year to make this happen as there are many moving Pieces that need to be taken care of in order to cultivate a real TEDx experience.

Chief Programming Officer

The Director of Programming is in charge of all things related to selecting and coaching speakers. The Director of Programming is responsible for reviewing speaker applications, selecting and interviewing finalists, and working with speakers throughout the process. They work with the Director of Operations to organize the speaker events. The Director of Programming must work with the speaker committee to guide the speakers through the process of writing their speech, making sure they are on track, and providing general support. They should be well organized and eager to help others live their dream of delivering a great TED Talk. 
Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer you are broadly responsible for all things related to the budget of TEDxCU. This includes organization of different groups needing funding as well as working with CSI to gain access to funding boards. You will be required to meet with multiple funding boards and Pitch to them both how much money you need and why you need it. This job includes many small details and lots of organization. You will need to work with every team at some point but you will work very closely with Operations, Outreach and Partnerships, as well as Marketing. Having a background in finance, accounting, or even analytics will be very impotent for this position.

Chief Marketing Officer

The Chief Marketing Officer is responsible to coordinate all marketing for TEDxCU. This includes developing and finding marketing channels, developing materials for those channels, getting in contact with local media sources, ordering t-shirts and other promotional items, and ensuring that all tickets are sold. The Director of Marketing is responsible for creating a social media and marketing strategy, implementing that strategy, and determining the best platforms for paid advertising. This person must be able to work with the Director of Design to create marketing materials. A background in social media analytics and graphic design a plus. The Director of Marketing assists with all responsibilities listed above.
Chief Operations Officer 

As the Chief Operations Officer, your job is to oversee all aspects of operations. From organizing speaker events to managing everything related to the set-up and take-down of the event itself. This means that you need to coordinate with the venue’s lighting, sound, and set-up crews, in addition to working with videographers about expectations and logistics. The Chief Operations Officer is also responsible for working with our event volunteers to create a TEDx environment where audience members feel welcome and inspired. Volunteers should be informed and understand what their jobs will be for the event. Chief of Operations is responsible for every aspect of event logistics. The Chief of Operations works very closely with the Chief of Programming. Experience with event organizing is a plus. 
Co-Chief Outreach Officer 

The Chief of Outreach is responsible for creating and implementing strategies for reaching audiences on the campus of CU Boulder and in the wider Denver/Boulder Metro areas. The Chief of Outreach is responsible for organizing nearly thirty student ambassadors who represent TEDxCU in their dorms or neighborhoods. This person focuses on non-digital modes of engaging our community through things like CU residential hall campaigns, canvasing, and identifying interested community groups. This person will work with the Co-Chief of partnerships to create strategies to connect with the student community and local businesses.
Co-Chief Partnerships Officer

The Chief of Partnerships will be responsible for a range of projects that focus on cultivating new and managing past partnerships. The Chief of Partnerships is responsible for raising cash and in-kind donations from corporate and community sponsors. The Director of Partnerships is also responsible for creating the partnerships packet that will be used to solicit funds and in-kind contributions, including sponsorships levels and working with each partner to maximize their brand visibility. The Co-Chief of partnerships will work together with the Co-Chief of outreach to connect with local businesses and the student population. 
Director of Media 

The Director of Media is responsible for creating and producing video content that will be used to promote TEDxCU. In addition, the Director of Media will also be responsible for storyboarding and producing an introductory video, based on the event theme, to be shown at our TEDxCU event. This person must be proficient in videography and video editing.
Director of Design

The Director of Design is responsible for the creation of all materials for TEDxCU. This person must be an experienced graphic designer capable of creating materials for the promotion of TEDxCU, speaker applications, and the event itself. In addition to marketing materials, the director will lead the team responsible for designing a logo for the event, in addition to designing t-shirts and programs for the event itself. This person will work very closely with the Director of Marketing and must be proficient in Adobe design products. Please include a link to a portfolio in your application.
TEDxCU student ambassadors program
This is a much more volunteer-like position for students that want to participate but do not have a lot of time to commit or are unsure what role they would want , they will be able to work with make of the different executive positions and find out what would work best for them in the future. This will include doing tabling/recruitment events, putting up posters in the university and different cities around boulder help with partnership packets within other things...
Speaker Coach
Students will get paired with someone who has been chosen to give a 7-15 minute Ted Talk. The student will help the individual work through the process of manuscripts and delivering the talk. The students will be that speaker's main support system while also giving feedback to other talks as well. There will be two prep sessions that will teach students how to give constructive critics and help students to learn how to critic manuscripts.
