Arsenal Women Player Development Pathway
Arsenal Women FC WSL Academy
Arsenal Women FC WSL Academy is a new FA initiative to support players in the elite player pathway making the step from U16s RTC/Academy football into our Arsenal Women's 1st team, bridging the gap with a new 16-21s Academy programme.

The new Academy will replace our Development squad for the 2018-19 season and ensure that all players continue to develop their football as well as continuing with their education to ensure that players have a dual career pathway. The new Academy is aimed to prepare girls for the next step in their football journey, and provide them with the opportunity to fulfil their potential technically, physically, psychologically & socially while ensuring they also commit to an education or work related training programme.

Players within the WSL Academy Programme will play within the FA WSL Academy League Programme with national fixtures against other WSL teams, with games taking place on Sundays and Wednesdays.

Players will be required to commit to 10-15 hours of weekly contact time, while receiving an extensive individualised coaching programme, weekly S&C provision, Medical, Education, Lifestyle and Wellbeing support to help players manage the demands of maintaining a dual career.

During the 2018/19 season the Arsenal Women's WSL Academy Programme will allow players to enrol in their own individual Education/training programmes while their football training commitments will take place in the evenings/weekends.

Only a small number of places are available within the squad with trials due to be held in early June.
