Thank you for your interest in Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity's Aging in Place Critical Home Repair Program. Our AIP Critical Home Repair Program promotes dignity and independence for low-income senior or disabled veteran homeowners in Pierce County by addressing critical health and safety needs within their homes.
To qualify for Habitat's home repair services,
you must meet ALL of the following requirements:
* Be age 60 or older
OR a disabled veteran of the US military
* Be a Pierce County resident
* Own and occupy the home where the repairs will occur
* Have a household gross income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income
* Have a demonstrated need for home repairs deemed critical for health and/or safety reasons
* Be willing to partner with Habitat for Humanity, volunteers, and the community through
sweat equity and cost sharing
Important: The home where repairs are made must be the senior/veteran's primary residence and the senior/veteran must plan on living in the home for a minimum of three years after work is completed. Work can be done on mobile homes only if it was built after 1976 and the repair cost does not exceed 50% of the value of the home.
This is an intake form ONLY. It is not an application for repair services. If it appears you meet our eligibility requirements and your repair needs are within our scope of services, we will send you an Application for Services to verify eligibility. Once we receive a signed and dated application, the next step will be a Site Visit where our team will assess your repair needs and prepare a Work Agreement including a scope of work and cost estimate. If we are unable to perform the services you need, we will attempt to refer you to other resources.
