YAIJ's Peer Support Training & Employment Program (PeerSTEP)

Thank you for your interest in YAIJ’s Peer Support Training & Employment Program (PeerSTEP).

This program includes an 8 week training session in developing peer support and relationship-building skills, for youth aged 15-30 who are Black, racialized, and/or neurodiverseAfter the training, we will provide employment support to youth who want to explore job opportunities in peer support and related areas. Each training group will include a maximum of 10 youth. Trainings may take place in-person, online, or a mixture of both, depending on preferences. The training involves 5 hours of workshops each week, as well as regular readings, reflections, and meetings with the YAIJ Empowerment Coach to develop a personalized learning plan.

Our next training is planned to begin in February.

The first page consists of a few personal questions so we can get to know you a little better, and why you are interested in the program. The second page will collect your consent to participate in the program (if you are under 18, you will need your parent and/or guardian to provide consent). Please note you must be a resident of Canada to take part in this program.
