The Future Walls street art programme in Sunderland is recruiting local creatives of all disciplines, backgrounds and walks of life, to help delivering the Future Walls programme.

The Future Walls mission is clear: we are here to create art for the people, by the people, with the people, therefore not to the people. 

The Future Walls programme is looking for individuals from diverse backgrounds and lifestyles to become equipped with the skills to help bring to life the highly ambitious Future Walls Sunderland street art project.

Participants will work alongside an eclectic mix of leading industry specialists, including world leading street artists, experienced urban curators, award winning filmmakers, and Art of Protest Project’s energetic delivery team in a creative, artistically driven and passion fueled environment. 

With a multitude of focus areas which vary in levels of intensity and duration, this programme will help guide participants on their own creative journey, as they help guide the real-time developments of Future Wall's exciting mission and dynamic structure.

Assisting with capturing the production of the mural through videography and photography, as well as editing and compressing files to be web/social media ready.

Working on production sites with our team to... 

-Help manage the public so they don’t interfere with the working artists 
-Understand all saftey, insurance, licensure, permissions, and RAMS documents (how to create them, circulate them and store them for handy use on production)
-Act as a “runner” to help go get food, drinks, and items as needed for the artists and crew 
-Make sure everyone is safe and hydrated, and all safety equipment is in situ and operating correctly 
-Wrap scissor lifts and understand plant equipment

Production role of Wall Preparation Assistant (rank your desire for this role, description below)

Working with our production manager to... 

 -Help ensure walls are base prepped with masonry paint and that surfaces are prepared to a high standard prior to mural commencement 
-Understanding the details of wall survey including surface material, adhesion, need for anti-graff coating, and more 
 -Site access analysis; understanding how plant equipment can assess wall, need for road closures, public safety considerations and more
