2019 DIG Field School Application
Thank you for your interest in the 2019 Discoveries in Geosciences (DIG) Field School. This year's field school will take place from July 28–August 1 at the Hell Creek State Park near Jordan, Montana.

We typically receive over 100 applications each year, and plan to accept around 30 participants. The application deadline is Friday, April 12 at 11:59 PST, and we will send final acceptance decisions in early May. There is a $100 course fee for accepted applicants.

The survey system dictates that you can't save your responses to complete the application later. Please allow ~30–40 minutes to complete the application. Unless otherwise indicated, please answer all questions.

Please remember that DIG participants will be fully immersed in intense, strenuous fieldwork. Participants will be involved in a HIGH level of physical activity, including long hikes, heavy lifting, and other types of difficult manual labor. Additionally, participants will be camping outdoors and may be exposed to extreme temperatures and inclement weather. Please strongly consider your ability to perform these tasks before applying.

The DIG is a four-day component of our research group's two month summer fieldwork, and participants camp with our research team at a remote field site. As a result, we unfortunately cannot accommodate children, friends, family members, significant others, etc. By submitting this form, you acknowledge that you understand and accept your involvement in the above activities.
