Day of the Girl-US (October 11th) is a national movement to speak out about gender bias and advocate for girls' rights everywhere. We are a 100% youth led network that collaborates with many organizations. We are looking for dedicated young leaders who are passionate about gender justice to serve on the Action Team to elevate the Day of the Girl movement nationwide and promote activism surrounding gender equality issues.
The Action Team's mission is to strengthen our strategy to mobilize the power of youth in creating change for girls and young women across the country. This is an unpaid position.

Eligibility: Applicants of all backgrounds living in the United States between the ages 13 to 22 are encouraged to apply. If you take initiative, meet deadlines, are flexible, and have a good sense of humor, you are our perfect candidate and will be paid in virtual hugs and emoticons. You must have reliable internet access.
This application is open year-round. Regardless of whether you are chosen for an interview or not, the Applicant Manager should let you know about the outcome of your application through email, and she will set up the interview Action Team members will be taken on year-round. We review applications as they come in.

Must be willing to dedicate at least 5 hours per week starting immediately to the Day of the Girl-US Action Team, including (but not limited to) weekly Google+ hangouts, assisting young activists across the country, creating and editing documents, helping orchestrate online discussion, encouraging concrete involvement in Day of the Girl, and a bunch of other cool stuff!!!
We are on the precipice of something amazing and we are looking for the team to help make this happen. We're in critical need of committed young changemakers and activists who are ready to create the largest youth-driven gender equality movement of the century.
