Valuing Web Series survey (2020)
Valuing Web Series is the first multi-country research project on web series. It is being conducted by the University of Wollongong and the Queensland University of Technology in Australia in partnership with four web series festivals: Marseille WebFest, T.O. WebFest, Vancouver WebFest and the Melbourne WebFest.

We are investigating the value of the web series to screen industries, local and national communities. Some of the questions we hope to answer include:

• Who is making web series and why?
• Does participating in a web series advance your career?
• How are web series financed?
• What kind of business models work best?
• What kinds of policies do we need to support the sector?
• What kind of training would benefit web series creatives?

It is vital that we capture the diverse opinions and voices of people working in web series, which is why we would greatly appreciate your input.

You might also find our results helpful for your work in web series. We will be sharing the findings through our festival websites and on www.valuingwebseries.com.

***An invitation to be involved***

We invite web series creators (all cast and crew) to contribute to the study by taking this online survey. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

At the end of the survey is also an invitation to register your interest to participate in our longer career study. This would involve one interview per year for four years either in person (at a web festival) or by video conference.
