STEM FAIR PREP AFTER-SCHOOL OPPORTUNITY
Hi there! Orchard Elementary is pleased to present a NEW after-school STEM opportunity! ¡Hola! ¡Orchard Elementary se complace en presentar una NUEVA oportunidad de STEM después de la escuela!

Here's how it works Así es como funciona:
  • Students in grade 5 will have in-class opportunities to prepare for the district's STEM fair, so they will NOT be invited to participate in this club at this time. Los estudiantes de 5.º grado tendrán oportunidades durante la clase para prepararse para la feria de STEM del distrito, por lo que NO serán invitados a participar en este club por ahora.  
  • Students in grade 6 are already familiar with the process, but may attend the after-school meetings if they need extra support getting ready for the school and/or district fair. Los estudiantes de 6.º grado ya están familiarizados con el proceso, pero pueden asistir a las reuniones después de clases si necesitan apoyo adicional para prepararse para la feria del distrito.  
  • Students in grades 3-4 are invited to meet with us once a month to become more familiar with the Scientific Method and prepare them for the school STEM fair. Los estudiantes de 3.º y 4.º grado están invitados a reunirse con nosotros una vez al mes para familiarizarse más con el Método Científico y prepararse para la feria escolar de STEM.  
  • Students in grades 1-2 will meet with us once a month to participate in STEM projects to get them more familiarized with and excited about the Scientific Method in preparation for this year's school STEM fair and for participation in the district fair in future grades. Los estudiantes de 1.º y 2.º grado se reunirán con nosotros una vez al mes para participar en proyectos de STEM y así familiarizarse y entusiasmarse más con el Método Científico, en preparación para la feria escolar de STEM de este año y para la participación en la feria del distrito en grados futuros.
We will meet ONCE MONTHLY, since this is more of a mentorship opportunity in preparation for the school and district fairs. The teachers and parent volunteers will help the students come up with ideas for their projects and can help provide materials, but the majority of work on their individual projects will need to be completed at home with help from an adult. Nos reuniremos UNA VEZ AL MES, ya que esta es más una oportunidad de mentoría en preparación para las ferias escolares y del distrito.   4. Monday, February 2nd, 2:15-3:00pm
  5. Monday, February 23, 2:15-3:00pm (Grades 1-4 School STEM Fair - parents welcome/Feria escolar de STEM para 1.º-4.º grado – los padres son bienvenidos)

The school and district fairs will occur in February, so the STEM Fair Prep Club will conclude in February as well. Las ferias escolar y distrital se llevarán a cabo en febrero, por lo que el Club de Preparación para la Feria de STEM también concluirá en febrero.

Space is limited. We will accept the first 20 1st-2nd graders and the first 25 3rd, 4th, and 6th graders who sign up. After that, names will be placed on a waitlist. El cupo es limitado.
