6/17 - Broadmoor: Laughing Buddha Nursery Farm Delivery Hub
Below is a brief description of all the farms and producers included in our delivery hub, followed by the order form! You can indicate that you want multiple packages or pounds of something (or a certain size eggs) in the notes section at the bottom of the form.
Pick up is 4-6 pm on Monday, June 17th at Propeller - 4035 Washington Ave. We use the Square register app, so accept cash, check and credit cards. Deadline to order is 10 AM on Monday, but sooner for dairy and bread and a few other items that I have to order in the days prior from the farmers/producers. In general, ordering sooner rather than later ensures you'll get what you want!
You pay in person, but if you don't show up to pick up your order and cannot be reached to make other arrangements, we charge a $20 restocking fee.
--> Local Cooling Farms (LCF) is our 16-acre pasture-based, regenerative farm in Rio, LA (near Bogalusa). We have egg laying chickens and ducks, plus hogs, goats, cattle and rabbits.
--> Kent Farms is a grass-fed cattle operation in Clinton owned and operated by Amelia and Russell Kent. They primarily consist of a cow-calf operation but also have a replacement heifer program and graze yearling cattle. Amelia is also very active in farming political advocacy and the Louisiana Farm Bureau.
--> Good Food (GF) Farms/Screaming Oaks is our friend James Shoop's pastured chicken and mushroom farm in Franklinton. He's been farming for 10 years with his dad. His dad calls his farm Good Food Farm, while the mushrooms have been marketed under James' Screaming Oaks. If you're looking for an online presence, look up Screaming Oaks, but the label on the chickens will say GF for Good Food Farms.
--> Greener Pastures Farm in Singer, LA, focuses on truly pastured poultry and pork. We're able to source their whole chickens and cuts through Inglewood Farms.
-->Mauthe's Progress Milk Barn is a grass based dairy in Progress, Miss., a few miles from the Louisiana state line. They produce a variety of dairy products from their herd of Jersey and Holstein cows, and do not homogenize (though laws currently require pasteurization).
--> Inglewood Farm is a certified organic farm focusing mostly on large scale produce in Alexandria. They also have pecan groves and raise grassfed beef and pastured pork.
--> Major Acre Farm is a small, diverse vegetable farm run by Ellis Douglas and Jasmine Meyer in Laplace, La. Using organic methods, they cultivate 1 acre on a 5 acre property near the Mississippi River. Our farm's main goal is to produce the highest quality and best tasting vegetables possible.
--> Poche Family Farm is vegetable farm located in Independence, Louisiana, run by Albert and Charise Poche along with their children Billie and Camille. While not certified organic, their farm is focused on sustainable agriculture using cover crops, organic pesticides and natural fertilizers wherever possible.
--> River Queen Greens is a half acre urban farm in Bywater. They specialize in greens and are Certified Naturally Grown!
--> Two Dog Farms is a 20 acre produce farm in Flora, Mississippi. With a slightly different growing season, it's fun to get some veggies that are just out of season down here. They follow organic practices but are not certified organic.
--> Succotash Ferments is locally sourced fermentation company based in Covington, bringing you a variety of fermented foods including kombucha, seasonal fermented vegetables (including krauts and kimchi), and more!
--> Bellegarde Bakery bakes incredible bread with heirloom, carefully sourced wheat. They grind whole wheat in their stone mill, preserving many of the wholesale qualities of wheat that are taken out of commercial flours. They use a slow fermentation process and many people with gluten sensitivities are able to enjoy their bread with no issues. Also, it's the most flavorful, delicious bread ever!
--> Cajun Dough Works takes the nostalgic recipes from our childhood and updates them for today's lifestyles. Many of their products incorporate whole grains and provide healthier options for both omnivores and plant-based eaters. Additionally, they like to incorporate local, seasonal produce and locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible!
--> Maple Syrup is sourced from my aunt and uncle's Maple Woods in Northern Wisconsin. Homestead Harvest Honey is from our neighbor in Bogalusa who takes great care of his hives. Thanks
