Application for Sewing Instructors and Textile/Fibre Arts Instructors
Our Social Fabric is looking for Sewing and Textile / Fibre Arts Instructors to teach classes for adults (and possibly children / youth) during the coming term, Sept/18 to May/19.

Our Social Fabric’s mission is: To reclaim, recycle, and extend the life cycle of surplus textiles and textile related materials destined for destruction and/or landfill and to build community awareness of best practices for textile waste reduction towards zero waste and a circular economy.

Skills and Experience:
• You must have knowledge of and a passion for textile recycling, upcycling and zero waste practices.
• Design and lead classes based on Our Social Fabric’s Mission Statement
• Candidates will have excellent hand-sewing and machine sewing skills and have experience teaching various levels of sewing classes up to 10 students.
• Experience in pattern drafting and alterations, apparel production, craft sewing and home décor or experience in fiber arts.
• Prepare course material and create handouts for students as needed
• Provide instructions and demonstrate sewing techniques
