Home-Start Barnet requires our volunteers to have good listening and communication skills, experience with children, as well as the capacity to visit the families we support in their homes, once a week, for 3 hours, during the weekdays. We require a minimum commitment period of one year.
We are committed to safer recruitment practices as part of safeguarding and protecting children and vulnerable adults.
All our volunteers have an Enhanced criminal record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), which replaces the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA). All volunteers are reference checked and complete our Volunteer Preparation Course to build their confidence, skills and knowledge before they can start supporting our families.
It is essential you complete all sections and sign this form.
Some statistics collected on this form allow us to compare the diversity of our volunteers with the families we support and the local community within which we work.
