Have you been in a situation where someone helped you without asking for anything in return? Have you helped others without them asking, you just stepped right in to help them in their journey to success? Has this helped to form deeper bonds with these people?
Looking for meaningful, simpler, less stressful work? Want to differentiate yourself, prove your value? Want to be more effective, efficient, valuable to companies?
Are you ready for your next position? Is your resume up to date, your network? Can you name the results you provided in measurable numerical amounts? Concerned about the lack of security at work? Looking for work or a new job?
WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Emmaus Work Connectors is a group made up of both professionals who are working and professionals seeking their next opportunity. How can you help?
By helping others, you help yourself in many ways – It’s “Net Working”: working together on your "work journey".
HOW IT WORKS:
(we are always improving the process, you can read the info below and read more here:
Monthly whole group meetings include:
a) Teams or individuals share progress on last month's goals and share what they have learned
b) Creating new "small teams" as appropriate (Small teams meet virtually every week or two)
c) Selecting a new "professional work buddy" for each attendee (Buddies meet every day or so)
d) Set goals (team level and individual level) for next month
Working together even a few minutes or hours a month will give everyone the opportunity to form deep bonds, the best type of networking!
Since this is a church ministry and since our spiritual walk is important in the work journey, a brief prayer and Bible reading (less than 5 minutes) will be part of the event. For an explanation of the term "Emmaus" and how it relates to our work journey while "traveling" with a buddy, you may find this information helpful:
