TAP Butterfly Commitment Statement
Every member of the TAP team believes sport can be a transformative force for good, both for individuals and for society as a whole. The lessons learned through sport can help to build bridges and, if the right lessons are learned through sport, forge a more compassionate society.
As a TAP Butterfly, you will help to bring about our vision for a more compassionate culture of sport, unleashing more of sport’s potential in the world.
Who are TAP Butterflies?
They are people who align themselves strongly with our vision for sport, and want to be a part of our mission, bringing about the necessary changes. They have a passion for sport and want to ensure that future generations of young people get an incredible experience of sport, where they want to continue to engage in sport and activity throughout their lives and, in turn, give back to those that come after them. TAP Butterflies are not satisfied with the status quo, nor will they put up with age-old practices simply because they have led to success in the past. They are willing to speak out for this more holistic approach, knowing that it is both a moral imperative but is also the surest route to unlocking more of each athlete’s potential - both in sport and in their life beyond sport.
As a TAP Butterfly I commit to:
- Try to embody TAP’s mindful, compassionate approach in all that I do
- Being a positive role model in all my public-facing communications
- Advocating where possible/relevant for a more compassionate culture of sport that takes into account the
wellbeing and holistic development of all participants
- Share TAP posts, information and content on a regular basis
- Look to make connections between TAP and any relevant schools, clubs and sporting organisations where I have involvement or a potential route into
- Engage as much as possible with the monthly challenges that TAP sends me
Administration
- Let TAP team members know if I am changing my email address
- Let TAP team know if I would like for any reason to withdraw myself as a TAP Butterfly
I recognise that this is a voluntary role, and this commitment is binding in honor only. It is not intended to be a legally binding contract between volunteer and TAP.
