Advisory Committee Community Application (Presumpscot and Longfellow)
The Portland Board of Public Education has a strong commitment to community participation as we know it strengthens our schools and keeps them actively engaged in the education process. To this end, the Board appoints citizen advisory panels and committees as needed to provide opportunities for citizens to advise the Board pursuant to Board Policy BCF.

Citizen Advisory Panels are appointed by the Board at the recommendation of the Board's Appointments Committee. Advisory Committees do not have final decision-making authority and do not act independently from the Board. The charge, length of service and membership of an advisory panel will be determined by the Board.

The Board issues a call for applications twice a year. Once in the Fall and once in the Winter. In September, a survey was sent out seeking candidates to fill openings for an at large seat on the District Advisory Building Committee and multiple openings on three Building Level Advisory Committees (one each to advise on the rebuilding projects for Longfellow, Presumpscot and Reiche elementary schools). Currently, we still have openings remaining on the Presumpscot Elementary and Longfellow Elementary committees.

If you are interested in serving on either of these committees, please complete this form in its entirety.

Detailed information for advisory committee members can be found online on the Board's Policy page at https://www.portlandschools.org/board_of_education/board_policies (see Policy BCF and BCF-R)

This application will close at 11:59 pm on December 1, 2019. We appreciate your interest in the Portland Public Schools. Thank you for considering applying.
