Wild Land Wild Horses Volunteer Application
This form is a preliminary step in the volunteer interview process at our sanctuary in Elmer, NJ. Please answer honestly and provide detailed information about your experience, as this will help us make the best decision for the well-being of our sanctuary residents.

What to expect: We are a rescue and sanctuary that focuses on nonrideable mustangs. We DO NOT have any type of riding or mounted horsework opportunities available. Typical volunteer activities include mucking, general cleaning, and filling waters. Only after completion of a mandatory orientation and several supervised shifts, additional duties could include grooming, leading, feeding and/or working with horses. 

  • Prior experience with large animals is NOT required
  • Volunteers should plan to regularly commit two hours per month or more 
  • The horses we accept often have significant emotional, behavioral and/or physical trauma. We expect volunteers to treat them with kindness and respect
