- PresidentDuties of the President include but are not limited to the following: Convene regularly scheduled meetings; Preside at the meetings; Work collaboratively with officers to lead transformation of DECO from ideas to reality; Provide leadership and model effective and efficient decision-making; Cultivate a transparent and collegial working relationship with CCCCO; Attend meetings and advocate for DECO at CCCCO, OEI, and other forums; Foster a positive working relationship with college leadership teams to encourage membership.
- Public Information OfficerDuties of the PIO include but are not limited to the following: Generate press releases and official statements to identified outlets on regular basis; Monitor news feeds for information relevant to DECO and communicate to officers and, as appropriate, membership; Develop relationships with appropriate colleagues to stay abreast of items that affect DECO, while they are still in planning stages or immediately. Coordinate and moderate the monthly DE Coordinators online meetings.
- Web DesignerDuties of the Web Designer include but are not limited to the following: Maintain the organization’s official website with current information regarding officers, events, resources and membership. Work to create an up-to-date web presence for the organization, including posting marketing materials and links to resources found on other relevant sites.
Please ONLY nominate yourself, NOT someone else. The persons elected for the positions will serve for two (2) years, beginning July 1, 2018. Voting will take place at CCC DECO’s Annual Meeting which is held during the Distance Education Coordinators Retreat, on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 9:00am-4:00pm in Anaheim (the day that the Online Teaching Conference begins). You need not be present at the Retreat in order to run for a position, but it is highly recommended that you are.
