MSIS Cohort: Institute 1 CEESA Conference in Helsinki, March 18-21, 2020
Mathematics Specialist in International Schools (MSIS) is a 2-year program certificate program designed for K-8 classroom teachers of mathematics. MSIS is a cohort program focusing on mathematics content specific to the K-8 AERO Mathematics Standards. The design of the program is a coherent sequence of five 3-day institutes designed to enhance teacher understanding of mathematics, how student learn mathematics, and how to determine evidence of student understanding of mathematics.

MSIS Cohort will be facilitated by Erma Anderson.

The 2-year program will begin at the 2020 CEESA Conference in Helsinki, with two days of pre-conference sessions (March 18-19). Participants are also required to attend the main CEESA Conference on March 20-21, 2020 which will be acknowledged as the third day of the MSIS Cohort Institute 1.

Institute 2 will be held in October 2020, Institute 3 in March 2021, Institute 4 in April 2021 and Institute 5 in October 2021.

The MSIS COHORT FEE is a 4-day package including:
- MSIS full day sessions on Wednesday and Thursday (March 18-19)
- workshops and keynote presentations at the 2020 CEESA Conference on Friday and Saturday (March 20-21)
- coffee breaks and lunch on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (March 18-21)
- Exhibitors' Reception on Friday afternoon
- CEESA After Party on Saturday evening

CEESA Excursions
As part of the Conference program, you may choose to participate in Friday afternoon excursions to the OODI library, the International School of Helsinki, a local (Finnish) school, or Arkki (School of Architecture for Youth and Children). The additional cost is $10 per person for a one-day travel pass.

CEESA Conference Cancellation Policy
Conference cancellations made by January 18, 2020 are free of charge, with no administration fee.

For cancellations made between January 18 to February 17, 2020 you will be refunded in full, minus a 25% administration fee.

For cancellations after February 17, 2020 you will be billed the total cost of your registration, unless caused by illness or a major family emergency.

To avoid cancellation fees, registrations can be transferred to new participants at no additional cost.

A written request for refund needs to be submitted to the Executive Director of CEESA, Kathy Stetson.
