#FathersStandUp THE 2019-20 PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY FATHERHOOD ACADEMIC RESPONSIBILITY PLEDGE - SET AN EXAMPLE FOR THE NATION!
Calling All Fathers!!! With the 2019-20 school year almost here, we need Prince George's County fathers and father-figures to join our #FathersStandUp movement and set an example for our nation. Fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, cousins, and all other father figures, please walk your child into school on the first day of school and pledge below to be a positive example for the children in your life by being an active, positive influence on their performance in school.

Please pledge to:
-Volunteer at least 10 hours per school year at your child's school
-Assist your child with reading or homework, including school projects, for at least 30 minutes each day
-Participate in at least two Parent-Teacher Conferences (one for each half of the school year) with your child's teachers
-Attend the Back to School Night and Men Make A Difference Day events at your child's school
-Join and be active in the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at your child's school
-Be a positive role model for your child and help Prince George's County set an example for our nation

Whether it is your child or another child in your life for whom you would like to be a great example, please send a message to our nation that Prince George's County men are stepping up to strengthen our schools and our communities. Please share this message and, if you are on social media, post your support of this pledge with the hashtag #FathersStandUp and any pictures of you walking your child into school on the first day of class.

#FathersStandUp is an Advisory Neighborhood Community (ANC) Initiative of the Office of Council Member (At-Large) Mel Franklin. Every month on social media, traditional media, online, and at community events, #FathersStandUp will highlight positive fathers, father-figures, and related organizations that are living up to the ideals of the Fatherhood Academic Responsibility Pledge.
