Who truly controls an image—the photographer behind the camera, or the subject in front of it?
Photography and BDSM may seem worlds apart, yet both are built on trust, guidance, mutual understanding, and shifting power dynamics. The most compelling images are rarely about control, but about two people creating a moment together.
Photographer Chang Yi and BDSM practitioner, rope model, and model Xiao Lu share their perspectives from opposite sides of the lens, exploring trust, boundaries, atmosphere, and the flow of power throughout the creative process.
From intimate photography and artistic nude work to Dom/sub dynamics, this conversation explores the gaze, desire, trust, intimacy, and the balance between artistic expression and commercial photography.
